Hi from a newbie.
I'm from Kirkcaldy and own an old Carrera 3.2. It pretty modified and usually goes pretty well.
Received some V.I.P. passes for this weekends event - has anyone any idea what these passes mean? Are they just for entry?
Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob
The passes are just to get you in , not on track, you may be able to join the fun if someone has cancelled , why not call helen ( see above posts).
What have you modded on the 3.2 ? I did a massive ammount to mine and I have a Boxster front brake mod for sale .
Mike

Hi Mike - basically I stripped the car back to a bare shell and started from there. Had the usual repairs to the 'B' pillar, front bumper mount and inner wing near the fuel filler along with a pair of new front wings and full paint. Considering the age of the car - the shell was pretty good.
Engine was left standard (its only covered 73k miles) but I fitted a set of SSI's and a Dansk 2 in 2 out silencer - its loud to say the least.
Suspension - all parts were blasted and powder-coated. Uprated hollow torsion bars. All suspension bushes were replaced with bronze instread of rubber. Replaced all bearings, ball joints etc. and fitted Bilstein Sports shocks.
As for the brakes, fitted new calipers and discs all round, fitted stainless hoses and replaced all pipes.
After covering 400 miles with the car back together, the gearbox pinion bearing race deceided it wanted a new home resulting in the engine being removed again for a gearbox strip/rebuild. Lucky its a very easy box to work on so there was no problems there.
Car goes pretty well when I decide to use it but its hardly covered 2k miles in the last 2 years since I put it back on the road.

Just returned back from Knockhill and can I say it was a brilliant morning. Although I wasn't driving myself, can I say thanks to Charles and Shoana for letting me be a passenger in there 2 cars. Also thanks to Gordon Robertson who drove me round the track in my own 997. Although I still feel a bit queasy, what a thrill!!
Thanks again it was a (pardon the pun) blast!!

Nice shots Stuart you have captured the speed of the cars nicely.
Don't think the Ferraris would have troubled your panning skills !
First time I've attended the Porsche day without driving , our cars looked great on track ( the red Fs sounded good)
Nice sideways action Ricardo

Mike

Agreed the Porsches looked fantastic on track, especially the GT3s.

I dont know why they didnt run the Porsches and Ferraris at the same time! There wasn't a lot of Ferraris in the 2nd session, it was actually a bit sparse!

The Red 360s sounded amazing though.

We got a casualty of the day towed into the garage this afternoon , Sadly i was covering the Showroom so couldnt go[:(]

Ferrari owners and Ferrari specificaly requested no Porsche on track with them...
apparantly their slower performance around the track would " devalue the brand "

was that the zanzibar boxster - I'm assuming mechanical problems as it didn't have a scratch on it.......

Was a good day - I got some coaching from Barry Horne which I really needed as was very out of practise at the beginning of the day - must try to get out more often.

GREAT pics stuart!! like the one of mine!

Thanks Kim for the photo. You are my first passenger! No one has ever been brave enough to come out with me!

Great morning and got lots of track time ;O)

Stuart

Thanks for the photo of my RS. Looks the fastest one there!

The car is Mark Fosters. He bought it from PSI in Belgium who mod Porsches. Mine is the same without the Chav body kit. PSI suspension fitted and set up. Marks car is a GT 2 I think with engine mods to 650 bhp. Check out their website if you want to find out more.

lol, funny you say that, I was clocking them at 105/106 with the fastest being 103

Oh! The RTS is a PSI Motorsport tuned car, I was speaking to the guy (forgot his name, sorry!) for a couple of min along with Gordon, he was given me a little background into it as my Turbo has ECU tuning from PSI also.
