Key style locking nut woes

I forgot to mention in my previous post:

I also have no locking wheel nut key! Contacting the previous owner seems impossible so i'm rather stuck.

Its the old key style (like a house key). Anyone with a spare key i could try who lives near York could be a lifesaver! Alternatively if anyone has had these off before please get in touch!

I'm new to 944 ownership and it appears i have bitten off more than I can chew really!

Thanks

Phil

Thanks Frenchy - do you think this is the best way?

Ive got a decent drill so shall i just get a large bit and stick it in??

Cheers!

I would try and keep them, its a small key I think u could try something else flat.

The nuts are open ended and hollow. So should be easy 2 driver something In and put them out if you needed or drill.

No need to drill, get a small flat screw driver, put it on the key hole, whack it with a hammer, simples, quicker to get them off this way than to use the key. Wheel locks are a waste of time, cause more trouble than they save,

Not at all..just looks like the odd initial niggle that you will get with any second hand car. From my experience having bought my 944 a year ago, this forum is full of people who know these cars in minute detail and will help and advise on absolutely any aspect of the car. Can't fault your purchase timing though - winter has gone so get out there and enjoy!

The best way to deal with them is by using a slide hammer / dent puller and a good self tapping screw.

Phil, I have a key for mine (that I don't use any more) and am not far from Tadcaster. However, mine were rusted up and if I recall correctly I removed mine with a pair of pliers and then binned them.
