I have just received this notice from Tracy Wilkins who runs the Boxster Register informing us of a date for her register visit to Jaz Porsche in St Albans and extending the invitation for members of the Cayman Register to attend.

For those of you who don't know Jaz, they are a Porsche Specialist Independent garage. Since the early 1990's they were originally based in Wembley and they currently take care of all Porsches from early classics right up to the latest 981/991 models. As business has grown over the years they have outgrown the Wembley premises and have moved to a considerably larger site in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

The event will take place on Saturday 9th May from 10am "" 12.30pm. Steve Winter the proprietor will hold a Q&A session from 11am. If you have any questions from the daily running of your car to how to get more bhp from your pride and joy then do come along as I am sure there will be an answer for all of us.

Steve and his team will also be on hand to show us around their premises during the morning and light refreshments will be provided.

Thanks Kevan. I'm already on Tracy's list and it would be great to find that I'm not the only Cayman interloper amongst the Boxsters. Come on chaps!....there must be some Cayman enthusiasts in the Herts/Essex/London area who can get along to this. Jeff
 
Two of the Cayman Register attended the visit which was informative and friendly, Steve who runs JAZ offered to allow our registry to have a visit if we want one at some point, there were about sixteen Boxsters and a couple of other Porsches with the engine hung out the back... JAZ work on Porsches of all ages and had two 356's on show, did some demonstrations of alignment and regassing the A/C on Boxster S's interesting stuff as was the Q&A which went on throughout.
 
Yes Kevan, I thought that Steve had a very tidy little set-up there. Obviously he has a lot of Porsche experience, including setting up and racing the cars. I got the impression that he particularly likes the air-cooled cars and prefers to leave the later water-cooled cars in the hands of his young technicians if he can. An interesting half day out. A Register trip would be good if you can drum up sufficient interest. Jeff
