Jason's garage day at Greg's on the 25th of August

Hi Guys, Would you mind if i came along? i've just bought a track prepped 944. it's my first 944 and it would be great to get those more experienced with these cars to give it a once over. the cigarette light doesn't work. so that's one job i could do with help with. Thanks Pav

ORIGINAL: Greg James But I know nothing.
I don't either. But don't worry, John will be there to make up for our collective ignorances. And apparently he has a set of proper screwdrivers! Oli.

Any track prepped 944 needs its own special thread...with pics [:D] I'd have thought a cigarette lighter not working would be the least of your worries ...

just been reading your thread edh. i bought the one from Paul Devyea if you know it. So all the work was done for me. other than the cigarette light obviously. took it to Bedford Autodrome last weekend. felt good, but different to anything else i have owned.

I've seen the ads - looks quite a full-on racecar. Is it road legal or are you trailering to track days? I think we ought to plan a 944 winter track day [:D]

He needs it to plug in one of those electric Superchargers [;)] Have a great day guys [:D]

Don't be daft - he just needs to light up an indecently large Montecristo as he approaches the finishing line ... he drives a 944 so ought to win! [;)] Oli.

It was great to meet up with a few faces, both familiar with on the forum in addition to the usual faces. Many thanks to Greg for being a great host in addition to John with his help wit the BBQ. It is always great to learn new things on such days in addition to doing some work on the car in addition to the general banter. As Andy said, the time did seem to fly :).

Here here to all the comments thus posted; 'twas a brilliant day and I really, really enjoyed it. Particular thanks to Greg for his impeccable hosting and seemingly limitless generosity with time, grub and polishing. Thanks also to everyone who turned up and made the day the occasion that it was. Faces to names are always excellent and the speed with which the time slipped away is testament to the enjoyable way in which that time was spent. As was said, we must do it again sometime. I'm always happy to offer to host, although can't offer the facilities that Greg can. And it's all a bit immaterial as the summer is drawing to a close, so a repeat event will be probably in 2014! Oli.

Thanks for all kind words. I'm more that happy to have it at mine. And as for Chaser you are an evil man after driving your car it's made me want a Turbo cab even more.

Geg mine will seriously be up for sale within the next few weeks I'm collecting it tomorrow sometime and the paint should look sweet. Ty is going to town to make is saleable but it wont be a bodged rust bucket. Just coming up to 46,000 miles, more oil changes in the book than you can shake a stick at, three coolant changes new water pump at 24,000 due, I think, to lack of use. I have the receipt for the belts which says Nov 2011 so I changed them shortly after that and had the tensions rechecked at Hillcrest, and the calliper plate lift issue has been addressed and properly rectified with new front discs last year, but accordiing to the mot man in may I only did 1058 miles in the year, everything works, down to the original stereo which still plays tapes because I fiited a new drive belt to the tape deck about two years ago. New hood etc, but going by others offered for sale I am not gooing to let it go for much less than £14,500, but that is probably the lowest priced straight turbo cab you will find offered anywhere, there are others with higher mialages being hawked for close to £17,000 so to me this is priced to sell.
