It's gone!!

Well, finally the fateful day arrived and on Sunday afternoon I had to stand and watch as someone else drove off in my car...[&:]

I know it's gone to a good home with a truly nice guy (hi Rob, if you're lurking!) and he seems delighted with it, so good result all round...

...except I'm missing it already![8|]

Just got to get the 'Beetle' on the road now[;)]

Lot's of Turbo's changing hands at the moment.

When you do give in and get another one it will cost you stacks to get one as good as your old one [:(]

Not surprised it was a sad goodbye. I did waiver for a while about shifting mine a few months back but just couldn't think of a similarly priced car (or indeed one priced considerably higher!) that would offer the same or better bangs for the buck combined with all round ability. Good luck with the Beetle ( I do like 964's and one day may be tempted but keep that to yourself [;)])

Chin up Nick, you'll be happy once the 964's ready [:D]

Seen plenty of Tony lately, a mate of mine has been changing the engine in the 356 he's got his hands on..............now THAT'S a beetle [;)] haha. Still looks cool tho...........

Nick,

I'm lurking all right ... and grinning like the proverbial Cheshire ... my oh my, it's faaaaast ... such joy!

Also, the ride is so compliant - yet the 'feel' is tremendous. Nick, as I have said many times before, you really know how to bolt a good car together! Now, having driven the Turbo and the Lux back to back - each, clearly, has its merits ... but - if anything - my Lux (adjustable Konis all round and lowered/re-indexed 30 mm) is significantly harsher at the rear end. So, it looks like I might be going back to standard shocks at the rear if backing off the Konis (curently set mid way) makes no real difference, as there is far too much bump-thump for the Worcestershire/Warwickshire roads (and my ex-front row forward's back!). The front with Konis is really nice - stiffer and tauter ... but nowhere near as harsh as the rear has become. So, if there's anyone out there who is in the market for a hardly-used set of rear adjustable Konis (that cost a stupid amount of dosh!) - ideal for a track day weapon - then they might be up for grabs soon. Then again ... I could turn the Lux into a track day car ... hmmm!?

The cross-country commute has never been so much fun - thanks again Nick.

Oh well Nick i'm sure the newly refreshed 964 will keep your adrenalin flowing - i'll certainly be watching with interest to see how you get on with her.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss Nick, hopefully your 964 will get moving soon.
I bet you can't wait to get it out now that the Turbo is gone!

And congrats to you Robert - you've got a nice one there!
