It's all done with mirrors

I had a surprise today. I needed to buy a new heated mirror glass for the 924 T and it turned out that OPC Reading was marginally cheaper for the replacement glass than the major independent I normally source my parts from. On top of that there is club membership discount, so it is worth just checking with your local OPC before automatically dismssing them as the most expensive. That said, when I rebuilt the head on the 924 T after the cambelt let go ( see article in the Porsche Post) the same independent offered me a saving of nearly fifty percent on the price of the valves, and also scoured the country for valve collets (including, it would appear, some OPCs) eventually managing to scare up nine, which turned up in a genuine and unopened Porsche parts bag.
