as if the good times of the 964RS Forum are over - everybody moved on to whereever, maybe FB. And you´ve left your German prisoner behind.

Anyway, I´m glad I ran over this forum 10 years or so ago. I met real characters, Mel, Des, Rich, Paul, Martin, Phil, Chris, Charles, John, Sean, Rick, Laurence, Ben, Ian and a few more.
If I had to pick one moment out of many, it would be the wine bar in Spa 2009.

Take care, mates (if you read this at all)! We had a bloody good time on this forum, hadn´t we?

Haven't met you in person Hacki,

but I always liked your British/German sense of humor and your comments. Maybe it got a bit silent "here" lately but this RS forum is way more active than anything I came across on this side of the pond. IMHO this forum would loose a lot if you weren't part of it anymore.....

Best from Cologne,
Klaus

We're still here mate -but more of a community on Facebook these days -you'll HAVE to give it a go!!

C u at Goodwood in September? -at the moment I aim to park up for all three days.....

Hacki, Des, you guys are very much missed on the database group. It would benefit hugely from your humour and extensive knowledge on these cars. As Laurence says, it's a private group (just like this forum) with the posts only viewable by members of the group. I'm admin and they have to get past me first! The group contains just over 400 members which are largely made up of 964 RS owners past and present from across the globe.

Thanks mate, just getting my life back on track, I am pleased to say. Did Facebook many years ago, not being a technophobe I found the user buttons a bit difficult to follow, so will need your help Martin.

Hacki/Des, join the 964RS database (ask Martin), this is where the action has now moved--people even talk about driving their cars!

Drove mine yesterday morning ……. 5.oo am through the country lanes of Sussex ……………..

Bright Stars fading away
As dawn light pierces the misty fields
Shifting down, cackle and pop
Starry eyed mammals
Leaping deers
Startled foxes
Shagged sheep
The smell of fresh mown fields
Once more over that blind hill into a valley of haze
Through the dense forest
Sunrise appears as a golden glow
Another day another dream
I'm glad I missed that Doe[:(]

Did you worry any squirrels?

I still check in here every day or two, but as mentioned it's very quiet.

Hacki, you should join the group on Facebook! It would benefit from your knowledge, humour and tips about farming woodland creatures.

And anyway Bubba is still waiting for someone to pick up the soap.

Hmm....so it's Facebook that is one of the reasons for the whole of this forum slowing down. The same has happened on Rennlist where a lot of the UK folk have stopped posting because they've joined the '964 owners facebook group' (I think that's what it's called). While I'm sure these groups are good for banter and easy contact with like minded people, I can't help but think it's a shame that they are having a negative effect on the larger Porsche forums.

...and also on traditional Porsche clubs like this one. I suppose that it reflects the fact that many owners with older cars are not interested in the marque as a whole.

Agreed, not intending joining facebook any time soon. Missing the content on here, I do try and stay involved and contribute.
Is martin's database thing also on facebook?

'....it reflects the fact that many owners with older cars are not interested in the marque as a whole.....'

On the contrary -I thought it was 'owners with newer cars are not interested in the marque as a whole....' ???

So Des has banged a sheep.....
