is my clutch on the way out

I have had the car nearly 2 years ,when i bought the car it had 19k on the clock now on 35k. when i press the clutch pedal down i can hear a squeak from the back end of the car,the gears seem harder to get in (1st to 2nd gear crunch now and again due to it being harder to get in[&o])other gears feel notchy, i have tried spray grease on linkages,the clutch pedal bite point seems quite high,compared with my other cars .the pedal has always hard to push down when compared with my other cars. any advise please.

I posted a link over on boxa.net to the LUK website , it includes a clutch symptoms and cause diagnosis sheet. The best way to see if the friction material is worn is to put the car in a high gear 4th 5th 6th and accelerate from a rev position around 4000 , if the revs increase but the speed doesnt then the friction disc is on the way out. If the release bearing or cover plate is damaged then you can get the symptoms you describe. Budget about 700 for a new clutch with fitting from an independant, and 1500 from a main agent, if you supply the parts (200 for a sachs oem unit).
 
Sounds like a clutch fork problem, had it with one of my boxsters.

As the clutch wears it puts more stress on the fork, which eventually gets stress fractures and bends or slowly sheers the fingers.

or.. it might just be the clutch :)
