Irish Tour 2012 Perhaps ?

ORIGINAL: simkin911 Mods - can we get some kind of stickie with these dates? Just to keep the event alive!
Anything that's got confirmed dates can go in the events sticky. I was about to update it this weekend when the Cotswold date changed! [] What we try to avoid is the first page of the forum being filled with stickied threads. There's the faqs for, well, faqs. And an events thread for events that aren't immediately booking. If there's a firm date for something that doesn't have it's own thread like Rutland Water or the Cotswold Rally, and needs to go in the events listings, just e-mail one of the mods. Or PM them, then wait for them to check their inbox...[&:]

Sounds truly delightful, I can't make those dates. Sorry. Pretty much all of August is out ... Look forward to the photos. Lots of them, particularly of the Guinness! Oli.

Hi guys, long time lurker and member (from Ireland ) just reading your posts and ideas ,may I suggest cotacting Porsche club Ireland registry or forum, we have a no. we are region R27 i believe and they would love to join/show/advise you on the delights of our wee country roads..regards Ciaran

Hi Guys Sorry I havent been about recently... Things were up in the air - My father passed away on the 29th Jan after a short illness and things are just getting back to normal for us all. The way things are at the minute I have a route semi-planned. Thursday 23-Aug-12 : I will meet the Holyhead ferry in Dublin - This is to cover the Welsh and English lads - Short spin to Co.Antrim - Stay overnight in B+B Friday 24-Aug-12 - Go to Larne and meet the Scots crowd early in the morning ... Spin of North coast with a few stops - Nice easy pace ! Stay overnight in Moville in Co.Donegal after the Magilligan ferry Saturday 25-Aug-12 Tour of north Donegal with a good few stops to visit areas of interest overnight stay - stopoff TBD Sunday 26-Aug -12 Tour of Galway/Connemara - Not to be missed - Stay overnight in Galway Monday 27-Aug -12 - Galway to Dublin along the old N6 and back on late ferry - Accomadation will be fairly basic .. and distances are fairly big - Maybe 200+ miles a day but we will be setting off early and no driving after 5pm ! I hope to have it all together with proper times and distances at the end of this month - The dates are concrete at the minute Once I get the route sorted I'll be looking for bums on seats.... I'll be keeping PCI and R27 in the loop as well....! Cheers Lads

ORIGINAL: VanhireBoys Hi Guys            Sorry I havent been about recently... Things were up in the air - My father passed away on the 29th Jan after a short illness and things are just getting back to normal for us all.
Sorry to hear about that. Thanks for planning this trip. Look forward to hearing more and eventually catching up with you.

Right then lads I have a route 95% completed and a few arrangements made ! I have a fare idea of stops and stays ! What I need now are "Bums on Seats !" If you either PM me or put your name here I'll take it you are up for it ! Cheers Donal

Hi Donal, unfortunatly I cannot commit to this trip, partly as I have an impending purchase of another Porsche. Another point, I noticed your proposed date clashes with with this years National Event. Cheers Alan.

Cheers Alan.. I did notice that Chateau Impney is the weekend before. Id say that this fact will put a few off ! If there isnt enough interest I can reschedule for next year and get the dates nailed down watertight and get it on the Events Calendar early ! The way things happened this year botched things up on me unfortunately If there is still interest I can still go with it no probs ! [;)]

Lads I am unfortunately going to have to call time on this run due to 1. Too close to the PCGB National Event at Chateau Impney 2. Time lost at the start of this year 3. Didnt advertise the dates and stuff properly I have the route and stops organised so its only a matter of reorganising it for a suitable date next year and get it sorted on the club calendar/list of events early. At least I can look forward to the R25 Tour in June [;)] Mods please unsticky this thread and let it slide on down ! Thanks lads for your interest and get your permissions in now for next year [:D]

Sorry not responded sooner, thanks for your work on this! wasn't sure I would be able to make it this year, with young Xander recently arrived (he is 3 weeks old now). all the best, Tony
