Thanks David,
It's going to Steve Bull for the work in 10 days time. it was last done 3 years / 20K ago
Simon
For the chain that should be fine. Steve will check the slippers too but I'd be surprised if the chain itself needed anything. Even the belts should be ok if they were done then too.
Rest assured Steve and Christian will do a good job, got to go and see them myself sometime soon.

ETA: Hello schambers, good to have you here. That looks like a handsome machine from the photos. Why a 944 - have you always wanted one, or was it going cheap (as they all seem to be these days)?

Hi Simon, well done on joining the 944 gang! This forum is a god send.
But Pewsey to Calne, 20 minutes? In a Morris Minor maybe, but its a lovely 944 stretch of road which should be rendered in less than that, surely?? Gentlemen, start your engines!
That is why it will take at least 20 minutes and, in reality, probably quite a bit longer. Why take the direct route when one can enjoy the 'long way round'?! ;~))

I thought we agreed it was Jon's turn to keep an eye on the 'unappreciated one' this month, and then it was mine again in October

Indeed - its far too great a task for just the one moderator, we all need regular breaks from it to recover our strength. [
