interior repair

anyone know of a way of repairing interiors

my car has a couple of 'nicks' - one on the passenger side b-pillar and the other on the gear shift surround. the vinyl (or whatever it is) has come away a little (only a small 5mm square section), I think it has been caught on something in the past. can anyone recommend a good repair technique and/or kit? something this small I'd rather do myself to keep costs down.

I can't help, but I am also in the same boat (putting two collapsable beds behind the front seats - don't ask!) so let me know what you try.
