Interchangable parts 86 onto 84 model ???

Hi

I have a nice 84 model 944 which im looking to do up a bit

Have two spare cars both 86 models with oval dash's

One has a newer style front end but as per previous post this must have been added as dont have correct tow eye in centre

Theres a few parts id would like to take FROM the 86 models and FIT to my 84 car

Was wondering if they are all interchangeable, as would be looking to fit standard parts from my 84 car onto 86 models so to sell them the cars on at some point

Also any other parts which are "Better " to take from latter cars ?

Ill list them by number so not to confuse (me anyway he he)

1. The aftermarket 3 spoke porsche steering wheel

2. Koni suspension

3. Aftermarket stainless exhaust

3a. Noticed one of the 86 cars has no "hub" infront of disc and other has the same setup as my 84 car, is this abas model?
And could i change my rusty rear/front suspension arms for shiny alloy ones from this "abs" style arms?

4. late style front bumper and wings as i read up there different shape at front corner

5. Rubber windscreen seal instead of the bonded and frames unit in my 84

6. Tail lights (surely wiring at most)

7. Electric seat function (i KNOW IM PUSHING IT NOW)

7a. The oval dash has a switch to lock doors so guessing its possible to wire in a remote central locking system into
this ???

8. Lastly and im told its not possible but... the oval dash into my 84 car without stupid wiring and major work

One of my 86 cars if prob past it so most parts will be coming off that one

8. Stupid amount of wiring and plumbing
7a. Yes, with work.
7. Not so difficult - all it needs is the connector and trailing lead which needs a fused positive.
6. Rear lamps are identical.
5. Fully interchangeable - youll need to remove the trim mounting clips but thats all.
4. If genuine parts, but its a GRP nosecone that fits with original wings and badge panel so its a straight swap.
3a. That would be a 1987 model year car, built from September 1986 onwards VIN: WPOzzz94zGNxxxxxx.
3. The exhaust will fit.
2, Depending which series two car it comes off, it will fit. Better to use the wishbones and hubs too then it certainly will.
1. Tricky. Wheels are identical over all models, but the horn contact ring differs. Standard wheel = swap the contact ring but aftermarket depends. Momo incorportate their own ring making their boss series one or series two (Sept '86>) specific. Cheap bosses use the Porsche ring so they are interchangeable with the correct ring to suit. 924 and series one 944 has a '477' part number prefix and series two 944s has a '928' prefix.

Id do all that I could to make a good car out of the 1986 or 1987 cars, if I were you.

Hi its me (theseller2121)

Had a problem with my login so just using a new user name which i think ill keep

I wish i could take easy option of using the latter cars but my 84 car's paintwork is in very good condition
Needs a couple small jobs for mot

The Black early 86 car needs sills welded for mot, paintwork isnt as good as my 84 and dont like the interior trim colour

The red late 86 is a very rusty and paintwork is past it, which is a shame as has all the best bits like Abs/no sunroof/facelift front, stainless system and massive service history
