Would anyone have good suggestions for companies, what specific things I should be aware of and so forth? Thanks for any advice.

Are you talking about insurance when on the track or when the car is away from the track eg at home in the garage?

Ian.

BTW when I was looking for insurance I saw a previous post from Melvin (thanks Melvin) recommending

Competition Car Insurance
THB Egger Lawson Ltd
72 Maid Marian Way
Nottingham
NG1 6BJ
Tel: 0115 941 5255
Fax: 0115 941 5215

So I phoned them up and they were happy to do insurance for a track / rally car when being driven to and from the event and when stored overnight in the garage. Fully comp and no need to log all the modifications. They require you to have a competition licence. I didn't get on track insurance (I didn't ask whether they would do this) as my car isn't worth enough to justify the likely premiums for that sort of cover.

Ian.
