Hi all, as delivery of my Macan S creeps, ever so slowly closer, I need to checkout some insurance for it. I intend to contact the insurers listed in Porsche Post, but my question to you all is: are these really the guys to call? Any thoughts or recommendations welcome. Also perhaps, any to avoid?

Many thanks.

As far as I know only Locktons has a formal association with the club.

Probably too many variables to comment on the many brokers touting for your business

I have our Macan, Boxster and Toyota pick up on a multicar policy with Admiral which seems competitive.

Many thanks everyone. I found that the most competitive quotes came via Moneysupermarket, and I'll be going with one of those.

Tim,
I recently insured my 981 Boxster S and found Admiral to be the best and much cheaper than Loxtons even with the PCGB discount.

You need to pick an insurer that allows you to use a Porsche Approved repairer, otherwise there will likely be residual value and/or other implications.

Admiral do allow Porsche Approved Repairers, we used Shorade in Cannock last year when our Macan had a ‘coming toether’ 🤭

Just to point out that there aren’t now any Porsche Approved Repairers; there are only Porsche Recommended Repairers. A subtle difference maybe, but I note that many/most seem to be recommended repairers for different makes … and not always the so-called “premium” makes.

When seeking insurance I think the main thing to confirm is that the insurer will allow you use a repairer of your choice and who will use only new Porsche parts.
