Hi all,
Don't know what others in my situation are paying but I've just renewed my Cayman R premium with Porsche Insurance Services through Marsh Ltd, and paid £375 fully comp. Protected NCB for me and a named driver. We are both over 50 and have full NCBs, and the car is garaged, fitted with a Tracker and covered for 10,000 miles a year. This price is down from the £430 I was happy to pay last year!

Good people to deal with and highly recommended.

We both have full NCBs, and the car is kept in an alrmed garaged, fitted with a Cobra Tracker and covered for 10,000 miles a year. Yet I'm paying £780 per year !! I know insurance prices vary slightly depending on which area of the country you're in, but that's a BIG difference and I dont think the outskirts of Nottingham are that high-risk.
 
Hi Gary, We live on the edge of Belper (medium sized market town) in Derbyshire, so your premium seems a little harsh. It would be interesting to see how much difference you being under 50 makes. I actually became 60 between my last renewal and the latest, and my partner is 53. You could always contact Marsh and suggest they are capable of better! Paul
 
I'm 55 and have a 2012 CR with tracker and do less than 5k a year with it. I was quoted £230 on GoCompare.com for basic FC insurance, however I like to do track days and went with Mannings for about £600 which includes protected NCB and unlimited track days. They have other advantages as well including Porsche loan car and repairs at my designated repairer which includes OPC's. I had also heard good feedback about them so went with them rather than the cheapest.
 
seems that most of us CR owners are in the 'middle aged' bracket, I'm 53 and just had a renewal with Admiral for my multicar policy, CR reduced from £289 last year to just £195 OK, I have maximum no claims and my wife is also on the policy as a driver of both vehicles (she's got an SP30, 3 points) and we have protected no claims and business use. Seems the insurance companies are being generous this year?
 
Just had my renewal through from Porsche insurance (marsh) £430 last year down to £330 . Well happy .

Im 23 with 2 accidents 2 years no claims with a 2.7 cayman - and am paying less than you - your price does seem pretty high given the information
 
I have found the insurance quotes you get via porsche way high. I'm 48 full NCB (not protected) up to 30k miles, and pay £450 via elephant, the Porsche official wanted double that. it ALWAYS pays to check rather than renew. I don't know how these firms can justify their prices. the largest risks are third party liabilities, and total loss, neither of these are really ambiguous.

Hi Paul I know Belper very well. It's where I come from and my parents still live there. I'll take your advice and contact Marsh. From other responses on this thread, I'm definitely paying over the odds.
 
I have one comment in that some insurers insist on a tracker and others don't, my tracker coasts £300/year so shouldn't we be saying that those paying for the tracker should add £300/year to their insurance costings? Insurers don't appear to allow a discount for a tracker, they just allow to insure the car. Others don't want a tracker and the prices don't necessarily vary by much at all.

Hi Kev, I just renewed my Tracker subs last week and they charged me £220!! You are right to add this onto the cost of insurance though. Without one I suspect few would be willing to quote at all. Paul

Hi Paul, something coming down in price! Wow!! I stopped my tracker a couple of years ago, my insurer is a bit more expensive than some but taking off the cost of the tracker then allowing that they cover european travel unlimited when I was looking at working in Germany it was a no brainer.
 
Manning require a Tracker if the insured value is greater than £60k, but it is at owner's option otherwise
