I bought my 944 a few months ago and put it onto my existing insurance.
Now it is renewal time, can anyone recommend where i can get my next 12 months insurance from?
As Admiral have quoted me over £500

A plan always seem quite competitive to me. Never had to claim (looks for wooden things) so don't know what they are like to deal with then but they are easy enough otherwise.

I use A-plan as well - they are a broker, and seem to specialise in higher-performance cars. Having said that, I'm not sure whether they are that competitive any more. I know that I won't only be going to them next year - I'll be looking elsewhere as well. Oli.

Heritage do do some good quotes but IIRC they only do limited mileage policies. If it helps I am paying £350ish for a 1990 turbo, normal policy, wife and I to drive.

Check out [link=http://www.confused.com]www.confused.com[/link] - I'm currently with Royal Sun Alliance(Renew 40+ policy) paying £220 fully comp protected ungaraged

Best bet is to hunt around, try as many companies as possible as they all vary depending on your circumstances. Classic line were the cheapest for me. Edd

88 lux used as a daily driver, £279 - 10k PA, wife as named driver, parked off road, Aviva Direct via Nowell and Richards.

Another here for Heritage, mine's the same order of cost too but as pointed out elsewhere they tend to be good for Agreed Value, which I've got and would recommend....had to make a claim some years back and they were very good about it! Well worth going for an Agreed Value policy if your mileage will be reasonable.

I contacted PJ Insurance ( Peter James Insurance). I am waiting the policy docs to check they didnt mis- hear me but they have quoted me £194 for my Porsche 944 Lux and also my Alfa GTV together Based on total value of £3600 and 3000 miles per annum. The next best was Lancaster who wanted nearly £500 just for the Alfa! Will let u know outcome

Went with A-Plan in the end £300 fully comp, not bad as I am in South London with 2 only years no claims. Performance direct quoted me £236 fully comp via confused.com so I rang them up to take it as that was the best I could find and the guy said that they couldnt honour that as I had put down that I owned another car (there was nowhere on the confused.com site that had that option). As I dont own another car I do not qualify for their classic car insurance so the premium went up to over £1000 First quote were over £1000 as well.

I'm with Performance Direct, less than £150 fully comp. Found them through go-compare or confused.com can't remember which.

Just moved from AON (now part of another group and renewal had gone up by 15%) to Haggerty - very impressed with attitude and service from Haggerty. Oh and £280 for my 'Beetle' with agreed value and 5000 miles per annum.
