Insurance Implications of Performance Mods

All,

Does anyone have experience of the insurance implications of the following aftermarket ' performance mods'

  • Bodykit (probably none)
  • Alloys
  • Exhaust
  • Induction kits
  • ECU chips
  • Engine upgrades (3.4 Ruf/Roock/etc.)

It seems a little unclear which of these need to be declared to the insurance companies...

I asked a broker about the 3.4/3.6 upgrade. He was very discouraging, said insurance cost would be similar to that of a GT3. I took his advice and ordered one.

If you live in a high cost area like us, then insurance really plays a part in our thinking

I suppose that' s one way of looking at it!

Insurance of 3.4 Boxster=Insurance of GT3 therefore buy GT3!

I like it, I might try that on my wife over the weekend!
