Insurance for a 2001 C4 cabriolet

Yes, folks, it is that time again when all good men [and women] and true tremble in the face of the insurance industry; motor insurance renewal.

The $64,000 question is, which company is likely to be the best and cheapest/most reasonable?

Just renewed mine with Privilege for £615. Protected bonus, 3 points, no tracker requirement, Age 50+ , £650 XS, SL6 postcode, 1 minor bump last year, 12000 miles limit. Doesn't cover track days.

Also try A. Manning Ltd as advertised in PP. They take care of mine and are usually pretty competitive. Track day cover is included, although I don't use it.

Admiral multi-car policy £310, protected NCB, on driveway, £500 XS, HP10 postcode. 48yo, no points(!) or accidents.

Don't forget, Admiral do not cover "extras" (even factory fitted) and if you have not declared them (for which they will charge extra for the increased "risk") you may find you are not covered...[:'(]

I've been with them for a few years now & all 3 of my cars (with all mods declared & business use) are on a multi-car policy that costs me £650 in total. I'm not complaining []

I was with Norwich Union Direct last year when I was still in my 30's they charged nearly £1000 for the year, no points and no claims. This year they wanted £1100 for the same policy. I used www.confused.com and beleive it or not got my policy for me and the wife for £590. Through Asda Insurance, guess who underwrites the policy, yip Norwich Union. It defies beleif shop around and try a few.

sorry forgot to mention 2003 996 cab, garaged and 10000 miles per year with an excess of £750 and have just turned 40 []

Admiral told me they didn't insure Porsches! I am with Adrian Flux, £700 per year, unlimited mileage, nil excess, 34yrs, 3pts full NCB. LN11 Postcode, I shudder to think what it will be when I move back to Sheffield!

Thats strange cos I have a multicar insurance policy with admiral started in August and they were the cheapest I could find for my 997 cab. My tearaway son with no noclaims bonus also saved about £200 on his Corsa when added to the multicar insurance. If he has prangs it does not affect my bonus.

I would suggest checking out Admiral

i got mine for 2001 996 cab tiptronic at Aone not aon, for 680 with 500 xcess. Class 1 business use, kept on dirive, 8000 miles limit, pncb and myself and spouse. 1 claim 2002. Age 50. postcode dh9 Only ones that came close were Yes at 695 with 500xs and supercar at 680 with 500 xs price match. Have a ss showing all quotes from 26 companies if any use to you send me your email address. I also sent this on to the register John Mcgirl in case it might help others and save on telephone bills!

Mannings gave me a quote for £1900!! and others from PP claimed that they might not be able to cover a Porsche cabriolet in Central London even though it has a Tracker and Disclok.

Eventally, after an afternoon of ringing round, I have decided to go with Porsche Insurance Services - a quote of c. £1,100 [with Tracker requirement] - from Royal & Sun Alliance - cheaper than from the same insurers direct.

Hi - just bought my Carrera 4 cabrio and so just insured it - More Than came out at £619 - I'm 36, 5 yrs NCD and no accidents or points - but that seems pretty good to me and was £300 less than any other deal...

I use Footman James for my C4S actually AXA as the underwriter.

35 years old, 10 years+ NCD but hit a Hare last summer on the way back from the 'ring so one claim, no points, 2 additional drivers...just under £1100.

The value is pretty high as it has many factory extras...and they covered all extras that others wouldn't (GT2 syle wheels, Aerokit, Lowered Sports Suspension, Sports Exhaust etc...)

I had a real battle with some companies regarding options...I was specifically asking if they were covered...and some were very elusive in their reply (Frizzell, Admiral)...NU said they couldn't cover due to the value!
At least I know I have the lot covered...no questions.
