Inspecting sills on 944

Silly question but I've looked at a few 944s now. Does anyone have any tips on how to get the little rubber cover off the inside of the door post to look at the sills. I don't want to force it and break one of the little louvres on the cover. Also don't want to stick anything between the bodywork and the cover. They seem quite brittle and the last think I want to do is break one when trying to check the sills :)

There's a plastic tab at the top of the vent. Gently pull this tab down, then pull the vent away from the car pivoting about the bottom edge. It should just lift straight out then. Re-fiiting is the reverse of removal...[;)]

They are sometimes glued in, or have tape around the inside, to stop them rattling or to secure them if the little tab has broken off. You could always ask the owner to remove it; as it's such an important area to look at no seller should be concerned about you asking.
