Independent in Yorkshire - Recommendations

Can anyone who has used independents in Yorkshire recommend anyone in particular please?

I will be acquiring my first 911 after many years of wanting one, a one owner full Porsche service history car, but want to get it checked out and serviced.

Thanks.

I use Revolution Porsche in Birstall which is local to me.
Other highly recommended independents are Strasse, Leeds and RPM, Knaresborough

I have been using RPM at Knaresborough for 16 years, always happy with the guys and the work they do.

I guess it depends whereabouts in the county you are?

I also use Porschtek in Beeston - Leeds for my 1987 911 and Julia's 2007 Boxster 3.4S.
Have been using them for 12 years, they are faultless and caring.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I’m about 1/2hour from Revolution and Porschtek, and 40min to RPM so nothing in it really as far as distance. I guess I’ll have to give them all a call and see what they have to say and take it from there.

Another recommendation for RPM in Knaresborough from me. Really know their stuff and are the nicest, most decent guy you could hope for.

Surprised no one has mentioned Strasse in Leeds given the support that they have given to the Region at Harewood / Lotherton over the years.

In the last year that I had my 911 I used RPM at Knaresborough, they were fantastic. Proper old school (i.e. they care) service. I was so pleased, and frankly (sadly?) in this day an age, surprised, that I even reviewed them on Google Maps (because folks only seem to whinge and never say anything nice??).

I would recommend Strasse.
2 years ago I bought a 991 gts and was unsure of the exhaust valve working properly.
Took it to Strasse , left it with them.
They took myself and my Gransons into town, picked us up later and reassured me all was fine and charged me a very reasonable fee ??

I mentioned Strasse on 2nd October Ian. I believe they have a good reputation and if it wasn’t that Revolution is so convenient I would use them.

I would also recommend Strasse, use them for both cars and always find them friendly and helpful.

Thanks everyone for your recommendations. After ringing the various independents and chatting to them all, I decided to go with RPM at Knaresborough on this occasion. I’ll have to feedback my experience once I’ve had the car in.

Hi Richard
I know your post is quite old however I’m keen to know how you got on with RPM in Knaresborough?
I live nearby to them and after just purchasing my first 911 I’m considering using them going forwards….

thanks
Neil

Hi Neil, I have used RPM on several occasions now and have always found them to be really helpful. They are always happy to talk around the jobs and show you what needs doing. The only downside is they can be quite busy so it can sometimes takes a while to get the car in. I’m currently waiting until the end of April to get mine in for a service.

Thanks Richard, that’s reassuring that you’ve had a good experience so far. The fact that it takes a while to get booked in is also a good testament if you know what I mean.
cheers
Neil

Porschtek are excellent. I've used them for 6 years.
RPM are really good too - I purchased a Boxster from them last year and have known Andy for ages. The only downside for me is their location but the quality of their work to the highest standard
Hop this helps
Peter
