Incero Hydra Blade

I have one too... makes cleaning the car so much quicker, but you must watch out for grit! (same caution as with a chamois)

Actually, Autoglym sell a similar product for about ÂŁ15. You may be able to get these from Halfords(?). I just got a Hydra blade from the local motor factor shop. It was about ÂŁ8 [:)] Money well spent, and saves squeezing out the chamois every 10 secs!

A must if you have a dark coloured car (drying them off on a hot day)

There are a few different blades on the market. The vary in length, depth and quality of the silicone used for the blade. The silicon used for the blade tip should be medical grade (softest) whilst a deeper blade keeps the plastic handle further away from the paintwork (for obvious reasons).

The Incero blade is indeed similar to a Autoglym offering, there are only a few manufacturers out there !! Having tried a few we feel that the Hyda Flexi Blade does the best job for us.

I went to their web site and was happily reading all the product discriptions and shopping away only to find no check out at the end. So no new cleaning gizmos for me ! Why have a web site with a shopping cart you can' t pay for, a waste of time and very frustrating.

you can get one from www.speeding.co.uk for 12.909 - and they have a working checkout!!

I have a hydra blade on my C4 for some time now - the car was Zymol Car of the Month in April 2001 so it seems to work. However, I do find that leathering is still necessary after using the blade; I can believe that using it on a less important car might be sufficient (ie no leathering) but the Porsche does need that extra finish - however, it does save an enormous amount of effort and comes highly recommeded from me...

In reply to both Richard and Jeff

I think you will find that the Incero site works as intended. An online ORDER facility- not an online payment facility. We have all the necessary Worldpay functionality in the wings as and when we need it.

I find it sad that you would rather pay your money to a faceless website than take advantage of the personal contact that Incero staff make with its clients.

Richard, if you are the person who telephoned Incero this morning, querying the order process, then you didn' t leave your phone number for a returned call. However you did receive an an email reply to that call prior to you making your forum post.

The functionality is intentional and is not " a waste of time and very frustrating" Richard. Had you placed your order you would have been called this morning to talk through your product choice, arrange delivery and take payment. This process is beneficial for both us (Incero) in terms of customer contact and the customer who is able to talk through their product selection and ask questions on usage. Isn' t this exactly the approach currently taken by PCGB for it' s online Club Shop ?

Electronic selling, the web etc. should be aids to doing business but they should only supplement the traditional methods of personal contact. Given a choice of a faceless, pay on-line site or a company prepared to travel anywhere in the UK to talk to customers face to face and demonstrate their products (e.g. Incero presentations at Essex and Devon & Cornwall Regions this month), I will take the latter every time. I hope that in the future Incero sales volumes are at a level that this personal contact is not viable - it will also be a sad day as I believe it is one of the main reasons that we are successful! Our enthusiasm for our products, the Porsche marque and our commitment to the club and it' s regions is far more important than the technology we use to deliver our sales.

So in summary - order facility working perfectly OK and as detailed in the order screens on the website - Jeff please take note! In all the sales Incero has made in the last few months this is the first complaint about the process which works well for both us and our customers.

I find it disappointing that Richard and Jeff choose to air their views on a public forum rather than directly to the company concerned as without a personal contact we cannot make a personal remedy - I guess that' s the price you pay for technology!

It is a nice change to see a company offering a " personal touch" service, preferring to discuss and asess the customers individual needs and demonstrating that they are prepared to put in the extra effort to maintain this (presentations etc). This has benefits to both the Customer and the Retailer.

In some instances however, some people do prefer to have the " option" to buy via web, without phone calls - it' s really a matter of personal taste.

EDITED FOR SPELLING!

Hi Peter
I see now that the problem I had with your web site, was that I didn' t realise that the shopping trolly picture was infact the check out. I thought it was just part of the graphics. I am now looking forward to a call to confirm my order as I have a question about the Axis wheel coat. I think personnal interaction with the customer is great , I just got confussed on your web site , that' s all . I also didn' t realise from your original post that you were so closely linked to the company, my post must have seemed very rude for which I appologise.

Cheers Richard.

Richard
No need for an apology! I just concerned that there was an inference that the site didn' t work. I agree that the trolley is a bit unclear, I personally don' t like the icon and it is on a list of website work to be replaced with something more fitting and obvious.

Geri
Thanks for the comments, your observation about having a choice (pay online or personal contact) is noted - one for us to ponder over!

kind regards

bought a hydra blade at porsche in the park, when we got home hubby washed the car so thought he would give it a go,after 3 seconds he declared it a useless bit of junk.
today i decided to give it a try on my daughters Fiesta, first try it just squeeked across the service,...YUK
second try not pressing down on it...IT WORKS.

I now have clean fiesta, clean conservatory windows, and front door.

ITS GREAT!!!![:)]

I have tried most of the INCERO products and find them very good value for money. However the wax, which gives a finish comparable to Zymol waxes, requires far more effort and elbow grease! Lazy I know. I have passed this comment on to Peter at INCERO. Maybe the Bentley (Sussex Region) concours will provide an opportunity to determine if we are using the products correctly.

Another big attraction with Zymol is, crazy I know, the fantastic smell of each product. (The INCERO wax smells like parafin...not one of my personal favourites!)Even the ZYMOL wheel cleaner smells of fresh mint. Most wheel cleaners just provide a toxic blast that feels like it is going to destroy your lungs.

I also have a hydra blade and have not been able to get on with it and resorted to a simulated leather ( I was told the real leather removes the wax but not sure if this is salesmans speil). I will try the `blade` again as it seems that user incompetence may be a factor.[&:]

I would prefer to use the INCERO products as they are less expensive. A few tweaks would elevate the product to a higher level of desirability IMHO.[;)]

I haven' t tried the Hydra blade, but I did buy the chamois leather from Incero. It is indeed, as they claim, a good quality very soft leather. It is cod-oil tanned, this is why it does not remove the wax. The Zymol literature tells you to use the Zymol synthetic one or an English cod-oil tanned chamois.
As long as it is clean, I don' t see why it should scratch the car any more than anything else.

I have used Incero' s wheel coat. This is easy to apply, no elbow grease required, only the ability to bend down and rub it on the wheels. It makes cleaning them afterwards very easy. I wipe them over every week with a damp old synthetic chamois to remove the brake diust (I keep the proper leather for the paintwork). It takes a minute or two per wheel, and they are good as new.

I noticed as well, that Incero have brought out something to save your paintwork on track days from stones. It seems something you paint on and then peel off afterwards. I guess it is like the rubbery Copydex glue.

So in summary - order facility working perfectly OK and as detailed in the order screens on the website - Jeff please take note!

Peter,
Websites that go all the way to order and then won' t take your payment ARE frustrating. These sites demonstrate a lack of e-commerce knowledge by the owners or a meanness to pay the set-up / payment fees.

Buyers now expect to go all the way to payment with the minimum of clicks in the minimum of time. They can do this at 90% of the sites they visit. Checkout the success of Amazon' s ' One-Click' . Your attitude shows a lack of customer-centric thinking IMO and your posting just contains a bunch of self-justified excuses.

In addtions, having ' ordered' on your system, I personally would not want you to waste yet more of my time my making me take a phone call from you to close the deal and the phone tag this will result in if you don' t reach me on first call. I only want to order some car wax!

If you have everything in the wings ready to go, why not just pay the fees and make it easy to do business with you.

I' ll be staying with Zymol. Easy ordering and it arrives next day every time.

John
The customer is ALWAYS right!

Bet you didn' t know that Zymol is made right here in the UK, oop North, shipped to the US and then distributed. Mad or what!

INCERO hasn' t been around long but is developing rapidly. Seems like some of us are suffering the growing pains. Patience is a virtue.

Oh and John, the customer always thinks he is right.
