IMS Bearing - Has the LN Engineering Item made any differences?

Hi guys,

Just wanted to get people's fedback on whether the LN Engineering IMS bearing has changed the way the car feels at all?

I know several members who have that bearing fitted to their M96 motors. All are happy so far and no detectable differences reported.

The bearing will not affect the 'feel' of the car. Why have you had one fitted? It likely some other component or something has been disturbed whilst it was replaced, e.g. clutch assembly.

I have just had one fitted to my 2001 996 as I had the gearbox out to change that pesky brake pipe that goes over the top. No difference to the car at all and to be honest I didn't expect there to be.
Of interest was the fact that my car had the dual row bearing which I thought only applied to the 99 model year cars, and it was in perfect condition - kept it as a paperweight to remind me of the cost!!
