Just off A19...our on a run with some of the club guys in the morning and probably The Lakeside @ Fellgate/A184 for lunch later if you are around when we are heading back I could divert...although I don’t know Gateshead well apart from the road to the bridges...

Hi Guys I unfortunately cannot make it on double Grandad duties, otherwise it would have been great to stretch the blue ones legs again.

Have a great run

Alastair

Great run out everyone...good to see those cars out on a sunny spring morning!

I do feel I should compliment Cafe68 on a fantastic bacon & sausage sandwich too!

I too was talking too much :)

That said, I did notice there was a photographer on site that took us all in convoy as we made our arrival. He is known to JohnH. He might might be persuaded to part with a few.

Do come along to the next outing.

PS. I nearly got overtaken by a flying ‘58 Magnette on the A68! What a car.

You mean the ‘outlaw‘ MG Magnette with its V8 and various 911 bits...I followed it most along most of the A68 and it looked remarkably composed. I also had time to realise how very small ii was compared to rest of the stuff around it! Well done Dave for a) keeping the car in he family all these years a& b) having the ingenuity& confidence to do those modifications!

I was also caught by 911 HJX who ‘zoomed’ past me on the A1231...the next few miles past Nissan and over the Wear were ‘fun’ ....that wide bodied C4S Looked good as I followed you John!

Thanks for your warm Magnette comments; it's the most fun I've had in it since I V8'd it :)

Thanks for arranging the spontaneous day it was great. See you all next club night.

Hmmm. To get close I‘d need an experienced co-driver in the passenger seat with prior Ring knowledge and pace notes.

Know anyone :) ?

Hahahaha..I can tell you where to get a great steak...but I’ll leave the best lines on the track to someone else!

I’d love to be sat in the back tho!

You do realise you can just enable notifications for the forum or for individual threads and choose whether you want instant notifications or not?

It seems that the forum is an ideal way for arranging things and WhatsApp groups, etc. not only overcomplicate things but raise issues around data privacy.

I‘d half agree Dave

1) you can only subscribe to an individual thread when you know about it, so you end up subscribing to all messages for a particular forum...so I’ve now got a mailbox full of PCGB messages

2) if you are in the middle of nowhere heading to a meet its much easier to fire off a message saying you are late or delayed than logging into forum and posting on the off chance those yoj are meeting are going look! 3) Is it a GPDR issue if someone willing provides their details to someone else...the club seems to think that it leaves itself open to a data privacy issue if its forums are used, no one is saying put it on a forum post, rather if they so desired send the other person a PM with more appropriate contact details. if there was a privacy risk was every platform with the ability to send a PM to another user would be impacted the same!

Push messaging via a forum post isnt exactly cutting edge in 2020...I’m waiting for the PCGB app thats been mooted for along time! Gne club cler t we needa a new developer as I know guys who could knock that together over a weekend!
