Importing a new Cayman or Cayman S

I am looking into buying a new Cayman or Cayman S. I would look second hand but I really want to choose the colours -I want metallic black with red leather interior! I am thinking of importing from the continent hopefully to save both money and delivery time. I am looking at brokers because the DIY route seems too complicated even for someone with time on their hands. Does anyone have any helpful tips/pitfalls on this, or know of any good brokers? Plus, my two reservations are insurance and resale value.... is there a downside to importing on this basis? Are there any *must have* additions, like sports exhaust?
