Immaculate Leather Interior.....

Ex Skyline

New member
....For sale. Ok mods, before you all jump on me and tell me to "clear off" to the sales and wants section and, more to the point, before i carefuly compose my intended advert, i would like to ask the more learned members of the club (me being a 944 newbie) would there be any point in advertising my immaculate cream leather interior for sale? I mean is there a call for them and , if so, how much would one fetch? I am going to put my 944 turbo on a strict diet and will be stripping out a lovely leather interior in favour of a roll cage, harness bar, two Schroth harnesses, two Bride race seats, a fire extinguisher and sod all else! Just want to see how the land lies re selling it complete so to speak. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
Pete

There's definately a market for them but you cannot expect people to be the buyer and the seller, what do you want for them ?

yes there will be a good demand if it is immaculate and full electrics and sports front seats.
Is it totally leather and origional , some are only leather faced and vinyl sides and backs ?
Offer it on here and it will go to a true 944 enthusiast.

Sports seats cant have full electrics - you can only get motorised for and aft movement with normal seats. As an aside, the sports seat option cost less than the full electric option (£400-odd to £500-odd)!

Nearly all are leather faced fronts only - but that's the bit you sit in / on so it wouldn't worry me.. Full leather was an expensive option I believe.

Thanks for all the replies chaps. Yes they are full leather. I dont think they are motorised, i will have to check. They are the proper sports seats though. I have seen a nutter racing a white one at Brands and they are the exact same seats as mine. I dont expect someone to be a "buyer and seller" it's just that i really dont have a clue on what to ask for the whole interior (and i only want to sell it as a complete interior). So, once again, any clue's on costings? Cheers guys.

stick it on fleabay and you will know what the price is very soon [:D]. as the market will dictate what price it will be

Completed auctions in ebay give you some sort of guide I suppose - but I'd try and sell it here or Tipec first. I would have thought £750-£1000? Of course buyers may suggest lower figures...

Any other leather options? doorcards & rear quarters, dash etc..? is it a 10 speaker pack (doorcards much more sought after..)

IIRC what Porsche call full leather only refers to the front covers with half leather consisting of material centres and leather bolsters. The rest of the seat covering, back etc is a vinyl.

Yes, its confusing. Virtually every 944 with leather trim has leather facias and vinyl sides, rears and rear seats. The only full leather cars had leather rears along with leather trimmed consoles etc.

If the seats have leather rears but the rear seats are vinyl then theyll be 911 seats, which wasnt an uncommon upgrade/replacement.

The value is really only in the front seats, so Id be surprised to see the vendor achieve £1,000... I bought a set of absolutely perfect black full leather 964 sports bolsters about a year ago, with all of the electrics that you can get on sports seats, and I paid £375 for them. There are a few people asking speculative, or just plain silly prices, but they arent selling their seats. Vinyl rears to match leather fronts are worth about £50, which is what I paid to make up my set. This again was black, which is the colour most likely to sell quickly.

I think you got a bargain Simon...

Anyway, if it is a "real" full leather interior, in a1 condition, there is plenty of value in all the extra bits.

I've never seen "half" leather, just fabric / vinyl combos, or where fabric seats have had bolster repairs.

Yes, half leather is a more common 911 option. Id be very surprised if it isnt leather with vinyl sides and rear, along with vinyl rear seats though.

I have wondered whether I got a 'bargain', although it was a market price 18mths ago when I bought them. There were several sets available for a similar price. Id decided that it was a fair price and people are now taking the micky.[:D]

Anyone know how many 'full' leather interiors were sold, ie dash, door cards etc?

Mine has this option and I was told it was rare, but love to know how many?

Bloody rare Tom.. Ive seen the parts from one, and Ive been around 944s (and heavily involved with, in the nineties) for 20yrs and Ive only ever seen one car and the bits from another.

chrisg has full leather in his non-pink Turbo S (and an unusual shiny black trim as well)

Tom: was this your car?
