To all my friends on the forum, my red baby has gone.[] Sold to Michael997 who has posted on this board. I wish him well.[8|]

I will still be a member of the club, so still be active. I am sure it will not be long till another Porsche will come my way.

I will be in touch, maybe if invited, bring my next mode of transport along to a meeting to swap notes. Thanks [:D]

Nick

Nick, are you still keen on the DB9 ? Do you have a one lined up already ? What's the latest ? I just had a thought : maybe Michael997 will sell your car back to you when his new car arrives in a few months time.[;)]

Mbrands,
DB9 still on the agenda, the call will be made today to secure a specific car, I will let you know how it goes. You never know, maybe Michael and I could do a Px in a years time[:D]
What a nice guy!

Michael997,
I am glad your trip home went well. Look after her now. You know red is best
Hoping to go to the festival Monday, I will give you a call.

Nick

purchased new DB9 today, arrives mid sept... my broken heart is slightly in better condition..[:)]

Nice one ! I hope you enjoy it. Did you get it at list from a main dealer, or did you have to pay a premium ? Just being nosey.

My boss has had his DB9 since January and I am sure you will not be disapointed. He loves it and it is a world away from the DB7 he had before.

waiting list for DB9 circa 3 weeks, what does that tell us?

supply outstripping demand perhaps?

or is there more to it than that.

Not exactly. Waiting list is about 9-12 months. They have stopped production of the coupe for the next 6 months to cope with the drophead. This will have a significant impact on waiting list and residules. One would hope!!

I got lucky with a dealer who sold me his demonstrator before he had it delivered, because I was such a nice man[;)]

Autocar this week is claiming that 997 turbo isn't coming until 2007, GT3 in 2006 and not much other developments in pipeline for 997

I heard from a dealer that 997 Turbo production would be starting around May/Jun of '06 and that GT3 will be out around the same time. So it's time to make sure your dealers remember who you are, as I think they are going to start pre-juggling build slots soon.

The question is whether to go for the GT3 (2WD and nicer handling) or Turbo (brute force). GT2 would be great compromize, but I heard they might not make one - maybe Turbo S instead (but still 4WD ?[:(][]). I'm sure GT2 would have worked better, had they not charged such a ridiculous premium for it resulting in that horrendous depreciation.

Also, something tells me that they will ramp up Turbo production pretty swiftly, so I'd be surprised if the 997 Turbo will be as difficult to get hold of as the 996 Turbo was, when it was first launched.
