Husbourne crawley Autojumble- not being organised this year

Okay chaps

i was trying to organise my year and enquired about the Husbourne Autojumble - usually held in May.

Unfortunately it is not being organised this year and i thought i would see if anybody would be interested in doing the event around the same time but at a change of venue.

I can arrange for stalls to be hired at Newark on Trent on the same day as the Newark Autojumble. Stall costs start at £17 so for the smaller trader may be considerably cheaper.

Please i welcome your comments as to the validity of this proposal. I must add that Newark charge people £6 to enter the event but there are normally a few hundres stalls, plus classic car displays, food stalls etc.

If the feedback is positive i will follow this up and get back to you and advertise in TIPEC and Porsche Post etc.

Regards Elliot

OMG, I'm sorry to see it go. It's the location and the old friends and banter. Don't think another venue would do ot for me, nor having to pay in.

It's been a surprise that it's kept going so long, forums such as this, and e-bay, have pretty much killed the need to go and rummage around in boxes of dirty junk in order to find some part you need. The social side of it was great though. [&o]

There's usually the option of selling parts at most Club events, either free for members or on a trade stand. I wouldn't travel specially to an event just for a few tables of unidentifiable bits, but it's nice to look through if I'm already at an event.

I went last year (its just down the road from me) and there was a very poor showing both from Porsches and sellers. The pub sold hardly any bacon sarnies but the best part was chatting to some other owners etc in the field, sorry car park, and of course its always amusing watching people try to get their pride and joy in and out of that ridiculous steep entry gate
