Hunting revs and rough idle when warm

My car is having a few issues which i hope some of you might be able to shed some light on.

It starts from cold on the first click of the starter but once warm it stumbles and splutters when i try and start it. Once finally running it can sometimes hunt(revs going up and down)and ticks over very lumpy. It can also be a pig when pulling away and almost stalls and i have to dip the clutch and give it more revs. Other times its perfectly fine!!!

Has anyone else had similar problems and what was done to cure them.

Cheers,
Stu

No cone filter Carl, its all pretty standard under there apart from a boost enhancer. I was also thinking air leak but cant find one for the life of me. I notice Lindsey racing sell a kit for the air pipes which comes with all the connectors and enough pipe to doo them all so i might just buy one and replace the lot. Does anyone know of a UK supplier that sells these kits?

Idle stabilisation valve perhaps? (although I'm not sure if turbos have these - my old 944S certainly did!)

Stu, I am in Sheffield and have a new AFM to try on my car as mine is not running right (I just need to pick it up from the post office). Your more then welcome to try it on yours to see if it helps. As said above AFM cost loads and if its not that its a right waste of money.
Might also be worth checking the TPS, because when mine was dead the car would not idle. Easy way to check is to pull the plug and see the difference.

One other point is the car dosent really use the ISV a lot when its up to temp but it will need it when the car is cold, so if yours works when cold its prob not the ISV.

I have a spare AFM & TPS & will be passing Sheffield on Wednesday night if that's any help

there is a handy flo chart fault finding guide on either Clarkes garage or parragon site .Worth taking a look as there are a whole range of things that can give the symptoms you have and it could be expensive to just replace stuff until you rectify the problem.

You can use soapy water to find an air leak on the hoses and manifolds
