My MY1994 C2 Cabrio with 93,500 miles still has original distributor caps and leads but one lead has just had to be changed. Is it now time to replace them all and the caps as well?

I've also discovered there doesn't appear to have been a change of brake fluid since a long time ago, like over 10 years, but nipples to brake callipers seized. Brakes are OK but before risking breaking the nipples, is this unusual? Thought brake fluid should be changed every two years or so.

I Recently replaced my leads with Magnacor kv 85’s also changed the dizzy cap & rotor, just buy Bosch, one part supplier has Porsche & Bosch variants sharing the same part number but double the price for official Porsche parts. None had been changed in the 16 years I’ve owned my car, but I can tell you now its running a hell of a lot better than it did, since I changed them all, just do the lot.

Rodney, your time is certainly past .. you must be suffering power ‘ economy losses by now.

change everything, and change it now ! Especially the brake fluid. Get some penetrating oil onto those nipples and try again ..

That sounds like a gambit for another time and place, but just do it. Mogul Rbf600 is good fluid, available from Opiee Oils our partner.

You may well have platelifr in the callipers as well, check for even use of the rotors .. you may need to refurb (that’s plate lift back there ..)

cheers, maurice

Beru leads are on backorder with no ETA so maybe think again about changing the leads now.

Hey, c'mon, commercial assassinations man to man? Good for you !! But beware the new rules !!

I was just pointing out they showed stock .. indicating theree may be some in the system still. Or make your own .. hours of fun and a recycling dix points !

cheers, Maurice

Thanks , Guys. I didn't mean to start a commercial war!!

On another item, where can I get a link to find out the original details of my car, date of build, options etc?
