How should I price my LHD 996

Hello,
I very, very, very [&o] unfortunately have to get rid of my 03/03 996 4S LHD due to new family. It is has nearly every option under the sun, including special (and tasteful) interior. It has only done 7300 miles.

I am just unsure how to best sell it here in London. BMW valued it at £45.000[] as a trade-in when it costs around £71.000 new. Some German friend offered me close to £60.000 which is still not great since I have to drive there.

Anyone with a tip?

Thanks,

JAG

1. If I was buying a car I would expect to go and get it

2. http://uk.mobile.de/ (but you might have better luck posting on http://www.mobile.de ) - Use the UK site to see the structure & how to post.

Hi John, interesting question, the LHD market aa a rule of thumb has always been approx 10k under the RHD market, sadly the options that you have on the car do nothing for it when you come to sell it unless you are selling to an enthusiast that really wants them, I would think that your car should be at least 10k under the UK price so 63k new, year old 55k ish minus 10k ............ sorry but his not far off the mark.

On the positive side look at www.mobile.de ....... pkw suchen ......... porsche 996 4S for a price guide in Germany, you can even place the car for sale there with a picture for free. or www.lacentrale.fr in france

Also depending on what you are replacing the car with why not px it in europe even against a RHD new car.

Failing all the above, I will drive it to germany for you and we can split the 15k 50 /50 !!!

Regards
Paul

Sorry Mark crossed in the post as they say.

LOL! At least we are consistant with the info.
A lot more info in your answer though[8D]

Wish I had thought of offering to drive it over for JAG - Road trip![:D]

Why not try a For Sale ad on the appropriate page here (and perhaps elsewhere) with full details?

You've nothing to lose and it may well appeal to someone.

Thanks to all, but on the subject of taking it to Germany, my fiancee has already booked the place!

I have been offered €80.000 by the broker who sold me the car, as he wants it for himself, although he reckons on 2nd thought the price he offered is on the high side. Having said that, I am buying my replacementf of him, an ... X5 (and a 3.0 litres at that...[]). Frankly, this car will go to Greece where I come from in a few years, and I will be able to look forward again to a proper sports car.

Now all I need to solve is, what do I do with a sports car in London. Better get some track days, otherwise frankly they are no use.

I wanted to go to the Porsche Winter Holiday, but now cannot do so, for it will bring back memories to difficult (or expensive) to bear[:(]
