how on earth do you reconnect front indicator?

I pulled the drivers side front indicator out to effect my MOT repair - how on earth do you reconnect the cable? I can't even see where to plug it back into behind the bumper, let alone get my hands in there. Does anyone have any ideas? Do I have to take the bumper off?

The plug and cable must have dropped back through the hole at the back of the indicator opening []. From memory you can gain access to it by removing the undertray. If that doesn't work, maybe try removing the wheel arch liner before you take off the whole bumper

Just done mine[:D]....remove the batwing and you can get to it, passenger side really easy, drivers side PITA
but if I can do it anyone can

If you do pull the bumper, be careful with the headlamp washer pipe, and the other lamp wires, and the paint[8|] The batwing can stay in place.

If the bolts come out its not too bad but an assistant to hold the bumper at 10cm forward would be a great asset

The design is from the pre-Toyota, design for assembly lessons in Stuttgart.

Good luck

Did it today, I'm ashamed to say it is a bit of a bodge job, I extended the cables by about 4 inches so that I could get my fat little fingers to it. Feeling quite bad about it as I am slowly going around the car removing all the bodge jobs inflicted upon it by POs and now I have become one of those! The whole indicator unit is shot though, it was masticked in and will need replacing some at some stage I will be able to clear up my own mess!
