How hard can it be.......................

Sold my 997 C4S in July and have been searching for a decent Gen II (2009 onwards) 987 Boxster S (or Cayman even) ever since. Spec preferred (but obviously flexible);

PSAM
Heated seats
Carrera Sport or Sport Design wheels
sub 40k mileage
Not - Red or white (and probable yellow)

Budget circa £23k

Prices were not suprisingly mental during our pleasant summer and have taken a pleasing downward turn over the last 4 weeks or so.....but still there seems to be very little on the market at the moment.

I'm doing my very best to be patient and not search through Pistonheads, Autotrader, E-bay, Boxa-net, 911UK, PCGB Forum more than 3 times a day.......also all the usual specialists, RSJ, 911Virgin, JZM etc etc.

Am I missing something, being too picky etc?? Should I just keep on looking? The scooter to the station is less fun now the rain has returned......I've even found myself looking at Lotus's

when the cheapest Boxster S OPC car is 25k and the cheapest Cayman S is £31k

I have just found 60+ cars to choose from but not at £23k lol

There is an approved used 2010 gen 2 Boxster S at OPC Cambridge with 30 odd thousand miles at £25k. It is green though.

You can't be that wide of the mark - you should find one soon enough.

Asking prices are one thing and final selling price is another

Offer your £23k on every single car that fits the bill and stand back and see if any dealer wishes to play ball

You may be very pleasantly surprised and bottom line is you can always go up but never down

I am afraid I just think the budget is too low!- not by much but by a couple of thousand .
I have seen good gen 1 987s at opc for £23k very recently so chances of a gen 2 for that much is a bit hopeful I think ,but later in the winter then maybe......,

Thankfully there are some more sensible (and not so rude) folk on here too. It was making me wonder, does everone else only buy from OPC's and always pay full list price ????

I've have seen the Cambridge one......but British Racing Green!!! Thought about it for about a minute when it was first posted last week, nice colour but not on a Boxster.

There's also the brown one......

you may be right !! Currently sitting in Porsche centre Mulhouse for a quick coffee and not a boxster s. 05 gen 1 987 on at £25 k !!
So at least you aren't trying to buy in Europe 😀

Sorry - I meant Brian and John in the posts above mine seemed to have missed that you said that you had to increase budget!

OP - if they are at £25K AT OPCs already, you'll soon find one within your budget, especially, as stated above, with the winter fast approaching.

I personally wouldn't see PASM as a deal breaker on a used Boxster - I don't think it particularly brings anything to the party.
