How do I remove the rev counter to change bulb?

This is just from reading other people's stories - have not had to do it yet myself!

You do have to remove the steering wheel to get the rev counter out Marc []. This is best left to a garage who can disable the airbag.
Hi, I am in the same situation as Mark, in that I've not actually done this myself, but my understanding is that you only have to remove the steering wheel if you have a Tiptronic - it can be done on a manual 993 without removing the wheel

I can pull the rev counter out but it hits the cowling and looks like as a minimum the cowling needs to be removed.
I removed the speedo to see if I could access the bulbs from behind but had no luck accessing the rev counter bulbs.
I'd prefer not to reassemble the steering wheel airbag assembly myself as I can see the airbag needs to be removed to remove the wheel which is easy enough (ensure battery is disconnected). It's the reassembly I'm weiry of.
