Fuse ok, relay clicking in on horn activation. Would the horn sounder be the next place to check?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Suggest, check relay (with known good relay or remove relay and bridge contacts).

If relay ok, check for power at horn (you may need another person to press horn switch whilst you're at the horn) and also try directly connecting horn to a known healthy battery.

think there are two actual "horns" - hi and lo tone ( thats the case in previous models) its unlikely that both failed together - but one could have been dead for a while and then it's partner failed.

If not the fuse as said could be relay if clicking.
Also check connections are good and clean.
Doubtful both high n low tone packed up together.
Good luck with the fix.

Hi all, thanks for the advice. It’s too cold out there atm to investigate and maybe a bumper off job!
MOT due soon so I think I’ll drop into Lap 911 Highworth for them to investigate. I’ll let you know how it goes 👍

Yeah certainly turned colder over night dont blame you to let a specialist take a look at it.
All the best hope its a simple fix

I had a horn failure on my 2013 981 , needed new horns and revised wiring , it’s a big job 3 hours bumper off my cost from independent was about £400.00 , Apparently they get a lot of water ingress

Horn/s now fixed. Both had actually failed (one previously I guess). Also during fault finding an issue with my alarm siren also identified and replaced….drains battery which I had noticed recently. Good job at reasonable price 👍

Sounds like the garage did a decent job of checking the car and sorting it things out - good result and well done to them for actually looking at a car properly.
