Just come back from 1 week in france in the north Dordogne and perigord.
2.000 miles virtualy empty roads except for the dordogne 90% of the time with the roof down. Where ever we parked there was always a stream of people stopping to look at the car, one little boy even looked at us and then said to his mother in german that we must be very rich to have such a nice car I did explain that the car was old so cheap. Did not see one other 944 and only saw 4 other porsches.
I can highly recommend the are for driving long straights, long sweeping curves
and not much traffic especialy after 8.30 when all the tractors have gone.

Sounds like a cracking road trip. I'd always fancied one down to the Millau viaduct. Now we've got the nipper I can't see that happening for some time now. France is a stunning country and has a road network we should have given it has roughly the same population. Swampy and his mates have alot to answer for.

you are right about the roads, fantastic surfaces. 80/85mph allthe way on the motorway and not much slower off it, although I did have an audible speed warning device in the passenger seat.

Surface area is a bit differernt. Most perverse thing about the UK is that for such a small country we all crowd into the bottom right hand corner.
