HIDs and MoT

My car has been tucked up in its garage for the last 30 months for various boring reasons but it's now out and booked in for a service and MoT:). (Started first turn of the key!)

I'm aware that MoT stations have become more attentive to aftermarket LED headlamps in the last couple of years. Do any of you have any knowledge of how they are reacting to aftermarket HIDs? I've had them on my 993 for well over a decade and so far they have not been questioned but if, these days, they will fail I'll maybe switch them back to halogens for the MoT and start looking for a smart new set of headlamp housings that are designed for LEDs
 
Never had an issue with my Aftermarket HIDS, and if questioned I would say they are standard Litronics.

I have leds now and they don’t bother about them, but I’m going to an independent garage. Carry some halogens so you can swap back if you get pulled up on them?
 
Existing halogen headlamp units on vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1986 must not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp for light source and lamp not compatible.

This does not refer to complete replacement headlamp units which may be constructed with HID or LED light sources.

If a complete headlamp unit has been replaced with a unit that was manufactured with HID or LED light sources, it must not be failed for ‘Light source and lamp not compatible’ but it must meet all other requirements detailed in section 4 of this manual specific to the type fitted at the time of test.
 
Ive had HID aftermarket in mine since I purchased it, so 16 MOTS never had even a warning

There are plenty of MOT stations in the UK
