So I posted a response to 'what did you do today..' a couple of days ago (replaced the radiator) and in response to 'pictures please' request, see attached shots of my '89 baltic blue turbo..before and after 1st bout of rejuvenation (wheels, tyres, hatch, belts, pulleys, service, air con, seats, brake rebuild) which as I said was a good introduction to cost of ownership..hence radiator installation at home. Hopefully major mechanicals might be sorted (I'm guessing not) and other phase of rejuvenation will be more cosmetic work.
Anyway, I'm based in SW London and just wanted to say hi and it's a great site and thanks for the interesting threads on this site, it's my 1st porsche, I almost bought a 968 a few yrs back but the 944T is superb, I love it and it's actually fairly practical too although not so sure about the 'good' fuel economy I've heard quoted here and there, car has done 117k miles and I was aware of some sorting required on purchase (previous owner was not too sympathetic) = great ongoing project and lots of fun..maybe some swearing also, but I've always loved the colour after seeing a similar vintage 911 in it a couple years back which also looked ace so I accept some $ consequences to acquire the 'right' colour (for me), it was worth it in my opinion but all depends on your budget I suppose, seems you can own for very cheap now although I suspect some large bills would be looming in this category - maybe even on more expensive cars also in reality of course..I have previously owned a classic 900Aero, Integra vtir, e30 318is, Audi coupe 20v, Subaru SVX, Subaru WRX, Landy, Ford Falcon, Spitfire, Cortina Crusader(!), Mini and will hopefully be in action on a track sometime soonish with any luck..
