I read all the Porsche Press releases about the Panamera and it kept being refered to as the New 928 [:-] now i just couldn't see any resemblance at all

untill i visited the Porsche museum and then all became clear, Porsche had toyed with the idea of making a 4 door 928

I think that one was a birthday present for Ferry Porsche.

One off.

They did this regularly - I've seen 944's and a special 914 that they made as birthday presents for him as well.

Looks great, are they suicide rear doors?

Back does look a little bit like a Pacer (was that the Yank goldfish-bowl car?), though. [8|]

not sure which way the back doors open, we couldn't get close anough to really see and there is no obvious door handle.my understanding was it was a concept car so never actually made. which might explain why theres no door handles or boot release key holes.
