Hello to forum and minor concern

One of the things with being new to a marque is not knowing what is normal vs something that should be sorted, for example the questions re shift resistance when trying to select 1st/reverse gears. It was re-assuring to read the feedback, it's normal, you need to learn it.

On a similar vein I had my (first) Porsche for a couple of months now, bought used (05 MY) with c 8k on the clock. I noticed a large amount of stone chipping on the plastic inside edge of the rear wheel arch. I put it down to lead feet of the previous owner on a gravel drive so got it re-sprayed.

Imagine to my dismay that after 2000 miles of cautious driving the chipping is returning, not so severe but still there. Is this normal?

Also, would anyone be able to advise re fitment 3M stoneguard - is it possible to get stips fitted to cover the inside edge?

Speak to Tom Wakeford of Paintshield UK; he'll tell you what is possible with 3M film.

Thanks - will be in touch with Tom. Fully expect to spend to more than I originally planned - trying to keep it pristine while also enjoying to the full

In the end I purchased a set of inner wheel arch protectors from Armourfend. Cost for a set of 4 plus fixing fluid was £32. Not bad and got some spare 3M stoneguard leftover so fixed to some other vulnerable areas.

Will let you know if it does the trick
