Heating Issue

Anyone any ideas as to this problem? My 968 recently developed a heating issue that whilst intermittent, is getting more regular.

After a start, whether cold or hot, after a couple of miles, the heater puts full heat into the cabin, irrespective of controls position. The fan isn’t effected but if I want cool air, I get hot air. Front and side vents. It lasts for 5 mins and then normalises, after which time I can once again get cool or ambient air.

I don’t have AC.

I’ve read the 944 and 968 forums and see regular issues with heater valves and clips but their problems seem different.

Grateful for any advice as I’d like to get it fixed.

Thanks.

I have a similar issue..!

I have tried to join the 968UK Forum a couple of times, but never get an Activation from the Admins [8|] so if you have success over there, could you please post the solution / fix here..?

I've recently joined the UK forum and it took a little while, I might have contacted the admin? I certainly appreciate access to both as posts have been super helpful.

My heater problem is that I get no heat and no recirculation or defrost, the only thing that works on mine is the fan! I'm going to test the control unit using a spare part kindly lent to me by another forum member.

I would clean the fluff out of the cabin sensor, that’s at the end of the pipe behind the rosette on the dash

you need to test all the sensors, one on the Rh end of the air intake under thd bonnet, the one in the mixing chamber behind the centre vents in the dash

Thanks for the pointers. Very useful. I’m just finding my way around these forums and there is some excellent stuff here.

Many thanks for this and apologies for the delayed reply (I’ve been unavoidably offline). I’ll be sure to try do what you suggested.
