Is there an airlock? If you've had any work done to the cooling system they are hard to bleed correctly.

The heater does have a weak point in the clip that holds the linkage for the temp control, and it's less that a pound for the part, but it fails to hot, not cold.

it has breen like it since i have owned the car, i did bleed the sysrem just in csse(no joy)
have checked the movement off the arm and it is moving.both ways.
cheers

Is it oval dash with numbers around the temp dial? if so probably one of the temp sensors has failed - usually the one under the scuttle plastic near the heater fan,
Tony

It looks like an electrical connector but actually there is (or should be) a small thermistor on the end - looks like a little black bead.

Here is a pic. The sensor itself is horizontal in a line with the top of the mesh.

There are two other sensors in the heating system, one is inside the central vent of the dashboard, the other is at the end of the flexible pipe connected to the small circular grille by the cigarette lighter.

There is a third inside Paul that sits right up the top of the heater box, need to remove the dash to get at it.

thanks for the replies and the picture(very helpful)
the sensor is missing on my car, i guess thats why i have no heat!

I have a couple of spare thermistors of the right value to solve your problem.

PM me your address and I'll post you one. It's dead easy to fit.

Oli.
