In a console....

Running on a Pi Zero, measures oil temp, water temp, intake temp, I have just bought the module for voltage sensing, so moving on, just need to work out what slightly bigger screens to use for best value for money

here is a vid of it running on two 1.3 Oled's and a Raspberry Pi zero, I had a bit of fun getting the volt meter to work as there are no analogue inputs on a Pi, had to go with a converter and voltage sensor, the time sync was also an issue, but a GPS module sorted that out

Well the Pi powered digital might be a work in progress
but the analogue stuff is done
bought a VDO clock on the cheap as they are hard to come by at sensible money, this one was not working and required some surgery
had to prize open the casing very gently and unsolder the clock movement from the case, on inspection two paper can capacitors had succumbed to age and environment and popped their lids off.

not much info to go one but a quick google and they are 100uF 16v, 80p for 5 from RS components, soldered the new ones in and the clock now works
so the gauges and clock assembled and working.

and if the Mrs don't like it she can keep her mints in her handbag, along with the kitchen sink and everything else that's in there

I recently did the same for our Hotpoint washing machine which was refusing to switch on. The capacitors I needed were £1.76 for 5! Got 4 spare if anybody has a Hotpoint washing machine that likes to flash its lights instead of switch on!! []

so I have now drilled and tapped the Turbo Oil Return Plug that was sent to me by a very kind man, this has the oil temp sensor in it.

going to have to wait a while as I have only just changed the oil

Love the digital display!
I have a boost gauge, Air/fuel and a disconnected oil temp guage. The sensor started leaking oil where the wire entered so I plugged it off a few years ago. It's last on the to-do list but it does bug me. Maybe an accurate volt gauge like yours is the way forward to fill the hole as the dash display can't be trusted.

work continues on the digital display, no pictures yet

but i have found some code to make sense of what comes out of a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) wheel sensor for TPMS, this with a bit of tweaking should give details on tyre pressure and temperature.

I starting to think the little 1.3 displays are a bit small, I have just fitted a 3.5 Inch touch screen on my second berry, this is 68mm High just the same as the hole in the lower part of the console, now touch is a bit of a waste of time so I am now on the hunt for some cheap 2.4 inch SSD13xx Oled displays.

so it might be 2x 2.4 on the outside with a 1.3 in the middle for time and date, I also now have the volt sensor working in the digital display, and keeping accurate time with a £5 GPS module,
