Harewood Classic &Vintage Vehicle Rally - Sunday 19th June 2011

Hi Everyone,

I have just received an application form for the above event in June.
Several cars from our region attended this superb event last year. We joined region 7 and the whole day was brilliant. All car marques attended. The atmosphere was great. There was plenty to do. Lots of food stalls and general stalls. Harewood House was open. So was the Bird Garden.

Several attending took pic-nics and we gathered together next to our cars to eat and talk.

The cost is £5 per car.

I will organise our region. If you wish to attend then indicate your intention on this thread. I will send the form off at the beginning of June. You can pay me on the day.

Kind regards

sounds good but is that the same day as the event at Wallington hall Nottinghamshire that Tom told us about ? [:-]

hopefully its me written the date down wrong []

Hi Helen
The unconfirmed date for the Wollaton Park Show is the 5th June which clashes with R7 concours at Harewood House.

The car show at Harewood house is on the 19th June and at the moment it doesn't seem to clash with anything local to our area.

Hope that helps
Cheers
Kerry

Yes, sounds really good, but is it also open to the beautiful, classic sculpture of the modern 997? (its owner is certainly vintage!)

Hi Max,

Yes it is. Mark Jessop's Region 7 area in which we were grouped catered for about 30 Porsche's of all ages.
Mark wants a bigger plot for this year. It was the best event I attended last year. Red Kites flying very low overhead. The whole ambience was wonderful.

Kind regards

Hi Maggie and Robin

We would love to be included, a veritable twitchers delight. In fact, as the area is so good we may make a weekend of it so keep us posted please. As to the Red Kites, a Donington marshal told me that they are summer visitors to the track there as well. Apparently they are attracted to people in red Boxters and often swoop for the odd peck. Watch out Kerry!

Hi Max
Can cope with swooping birds.......... its the 'lucky gifts' they drop on the paintwork that drive me insane........One dropped a huge one on the wing of the GT3!!!!!! Looks like I will have to go to Donington in the Kia!!
Perhaps not?
Cheers
Kerry

i've penciled this in my diary but can't commit to it yet.

do you know if the show is dog friendly? as its highly likely we will be dog sitting for my daughter.

I have posted a thread on Region 7 who are co-ordinating this event.
I have listed us and Max and Doreen Twist from our region.

Kind regards

The tickets have now been orderd. Robin if you let me have yours and Max's home address I will post them out as soon as I get my hot little hands on them.

Helen, may have one spare ticket if you want it. Harewood allow dogs on site as long as they are on a lead, but they are not allowed in the bird garden.

Thanks Mark,

I have sent you an email. But just in case it doesn't arrive:

My address is 58, Tennyson Way, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, LE13 1LS

Many thanks

Kind regards

Hi

I have lost the plot as to who organised this one, but to whoever did, a big thank you. Despite the rain and the sat-nav which made us take part in the Leeds marathon we had a great day out. Cars, motorcycle display team, red-kites, venue all excellent. Thanks.

Max and Dorothy
