Without Prejudice
Hi All,
We a group of fellow Porsche Owners are trying to reach out to all owners of Porsche Cars Post 2019 that may have a GPF (gas particle filter) fitted, to both provide some potential advice as well as some help from you to assist with us trying to get the Brand to recognise this issue that been on going for over 2 years with no immediate root cause/fix available.
Which potentially could also effect other models ?
You may or may not be aware that there are quite a few members/owners of 718 models that have suffered from issues with their GPFs failing which then leads to a battle with both the OPC and the brand to have this covered by a warranty claim.
Without me going into too much detail I have added a link below to the original post that current has nearly 56,000 views.
A word of warning, its currently up to 29 pages and quite possibly the biggest post ever on the club site.
You may have also recently read the article that was in the Porsche Post March issue...(4 page spread).
Currently we believe that based on the work completed to date by both the OPC'S and owners which includes engine strip outs/new sensors and multiple exhaust fitted the only thing left that's not been investigated by the brand is software.
If your model is fitted with a GPF (Post 2019 - 911's/ Macans / 718's, etc)
- At your next service ask for your ASH LOAD to be checked and ask for the fill reading %, this is all part of the standard VAL report so there should be no extra work or costs involved.
- Have you ever seen your regen light appear on your dash - if you have please let us know.. as yet this driver aid has never been seen by any 718 owners and is referenced too in the owners manual.
- If you have experienced a GPF failure or are currently please don't hesitate to contact us for some help/support in fighting any potential costs you may be asked to stump up...
Although to date this is mainly being discussed on the 718 forum we have been contacted by quite a few 991 owners that have also suffered from these GPFs failing and being asked to pay up to £10k for a replacement.. please bare in mind there are 2 of these GPF's fitted on the flat 6 models..
So if you have a few spare hours please click and read and add comments, any questions also welcome.
