hi, I have a 997 gen 2 without the sports chrono package and was wondering if anyone could recommend a supplier who could add it? I am not Interested in the clock on the dash, just the button on the console and the remapping.

Definately local OPC, the retrofit of the sport mode does not include the stopwatch just the ECU upgraded maps, the PASM alterations and a new button panel . Only if you have a PDK though i wouldnt recommend the outlay if your car is manual. I added a post about a year and a half ago after getting the retrofit done when i had a gen 2 4s.

thanks for the reply. Any idea of the rough cost?

Thanks for replying Gap. Yes, I have the pick gearbox so it should be a useful addition.

Hi Ian,
May i politely ask why you wouldn’t recommend the Sport Button upgrade for a manual car? I have the Sport Chrono Plus package on my Gen 1 C2S manual and I love the difference it makes to throttle response as well as the rev matching. However, I do turn off the sports damping as the ride is too hard for my local potholed roads!

Hi Essexboy, it is more about the cost of the retrofit and the fact it absolutely transforms the PDK mapping as well as the other features. Not doubting the benefit to manual cars but it is a must in my opinion for PDK cars and at £900 less value for money on the manual cars. I only have personal experience of the difference in a PDK car so am going on feedback from some manual car owners who were not as sure the retrofit outlay was worth it on their cars. I would definitely say there is benefit in buying either car with Sport Chrono package fitted if you can
