We have just received one of those dreadful 'phone calls we all dread. A short time ago Diane rang to tell us that her beloved husband George had collapsed and died of a massive heart attack.
She asked us to post the news on the 944 Forum, knowing that he would have wanted it that way. He was a very popular member of Region 18 and will be sadly missed by us all.
As close friends we are absolutely devastated.

Thats aweful news. I remember George and Diane at many 944 meets and recall not only what a gent George was but how happy the pair of them were together. My heartfelt condolences go out to Diane as well as all of Georges family and friends.

As John as already said. A great gentleman and a good friend. Condolences to Diane and the family. Such sad news

Terrible news. George and Diane have always been at the heart of the 944 community, all our thoughts go out to the family.

Never good news to hear someone has passed, but when its someone who was close to so many people in this community it makes it harder, and harder still for those who knew him closely.
Heartfelt condolences from us

I first met George when our cars were parked beside each other in the display at Eynesham. We chatted, as you do, and it has always been a pleasure to see George and Diane at events subsequently. George was a true gentleman, unassuming but great company. His pride in his, and Dianes, daughter was obvious to all. I will certainly miss him and can only imagine the hole that has been left for those who have had the privilege to know George better than I. My thoughts go out to Diane.

I never met George and i have only been on here for a few months, always seemed a gent. life is too short

sincere condolences to his wife and family.

Please see my post on the Lancashire & cumbria section regarding George's funeral

many thanks

Jeremy

The dark blue 944 Cab. Always remember Fen hating the colour, so many little memories like that are what makes membership so rewarding!

Didn't know George other than through his postings but my condolences go out to his family and friends.

Funeral details now available on the Lancashire & cumbria section for those of you wishing to attend.

many thanks

Jeremy.
