Hello, I’m new to the forum and looking for some guidance. I’m restoring a 1968 912 and have removed the engine and gearbox. I’m looking for a gearbox specialist, would any of you have recommendations for a UK based company (ideally in the NW England but not essential) that are any good with these units. Many thanks in anticipation, Craig.

I have first hand experience here, but with the 911/915 transmission, a heavy duty version of your box.

I would contact Greatworth Classics first. They are based close to Silverstone circuit, not close, but doable.

Ask for Angus (the boss) and or Sam who does these gearbox and engine builds.
They are not a one-man-and-a-dog operation.

Alternative would be to ask your regional officer for help.
