Carn't beleive I'm doing this myself but I'm having ago[:)]

I'm droping the transmisson on friday I have noticed that I have a leak from the selector shaft seal...I have a new one do I just pull the old one out? any tips[:D].....

the diff was rebuild last year and front seal replaced , the drive shaft seals do not leak(yet) anything else simple and cheap I should do?

i'm also doing the torque tube whilst i'm there....any tips welcomed[:D] I have the new bearing's

o'h and I'm dropping the tank and replacing all the hoses/fuel lines

don't know what to do in the afternoon[:D]

My specialist quoted half an hour and a new seal, which is a cheap part. Turbos can be more difficult as it isnt unknown for them to tighten all of their bolts up, but he didnt think that it would take much longer than quoted.

Obviously, they werent removing the transaxle, only unbolting the driveshaft.

Yes, manual just says pull out with tool VW681 (which is just a hook), and to pack between seal lips with multi purpose grease. Good luck!
