Do you keep your Boxster in a garage?


except when away from home, yes,always. locked and alarmed in a nice warm garage.[:)]

i' ve been known to refuse to stay the night at a friends cos i won' t leave my car at the side of the road.
 
Normally yes I do. When my dinghy comes home the Boxster is eviced from the garage. This makes sure that the boat gets done quickly. Also as I do not have a hard top it is always in there in the winter. As I travel a bit on business I also have to leave it in hotel car parks overnight. I must admit, when I have had to do work overnight in London I have always insisted on access to their secure car parks.
I am probably less worried about it now that the Boxster is getting older

I always phone hotels before i book and make sure they have secure parking. the AA guide to hotels is very good on informing you about the parking.
 
Metal prefers a nice cold garage, but hopefully the Boxster is corrosion proof. When it isn' t in use it is locked away in the garage.

I too call hotels, even on biz, and check on security. I have been known to select hotels on that basis alone. So, I am obviously not alone in this TLC! BTW It is not unusual for hotels to get these calls particularly in the midlands.

Also, I too won' t leave my car in the road overnight. Bit miffed I have to manually pull in the wing mirrors (not really).

Slightly off the subject, I find it very difficult to sort out a parking place in supermarkets & malls (necessary evils) and so it usually ends up with a few others in some distant but visible corner. Same holds true of meter parking spaces ... maybe they should have Boxster spaces like they have for mothers with toddlers, but then again ' the others' would park in there as they do .... if it is late on I always park in the mother with toddler spaces to avoid the dingers (confession is allegedly good).

Paranoid ... fraid so.
 
I suppose with all the press about people getting there trsuty 2 seater steeds acosted by jealous types it is only to be expected that certain precautions are taken and a bit of paranoia is about.

I can' t confess to garaging MY02 every night, especially now that we have just moved house and the garage is a little full with boxes. (cardboard boxes not a typo for Boxsters). I would like to and in due course it will happen. As I don' t have a hard top I try to tuck it away warm and safe in the winter.

As for out on business, I do my best to use public transport, trains mainly into and out of London, as this helps with security, but also tends to help keep the mileage down.
 
hmmm....

My insurance stipulates that the car MUST be garaged between 11PM and 6AM if at the policyholders premises.
Those of you who are not always garaging (as I did not used to!) might be advised to check your policy.
I did not garage the BRAND NEW Boxster for a while as I had my old 944 for sale, and it was easier to garage the 944 when spruced up for sale (rather than have to keep washing it because it had rained).
I found out afterwards that the Boxster was uninsured when I did this[:' (]
 
I am lucky that my garage has the central heating boiler in there, so even in the depth of winter the garage is still a loverly 18 deg [:D]
 
I used to have this with my insurance. When I moved in to my presant house the car was on the drive (boat was in the garage [;)] ) When I talked to my insurance it was the same cost if I ket it in the garage or the drive. The only difference was that I could have it in the garage if I wanted to. So now my policy say on the drive.

Royal and Sun Alliance. Arranged through PerformanceMarqu and previously through Peart - both on the Porsche Scheme arranged with the clubs insurance panel.
 
Mine is always garaged and locked and the garage door is bolted shut from the inside. I also have one of those security posts that you see in some private car park spaces which is bolted to the floor and I use when we go away on holiday. This might seem a little over the top considering that our next door neighbour keeps her 996 Carrera 2 outside so that she can play table tennis in the garage! [:eek:] Obviously table tennis is more important to some people than the security of their Porsche!
