Full road going 951 keeping up with the Big Boys!

Sean Buchanan in his very well kept and prepared 1986 951 at our most recent Porsche Club of N.S.W. Supersprints last weekend. He came 5th out of 58 entrants and the only cars faster were (in order) a 997 Cup S, 996 RSR 4.0L, 997 Cup, race spec EVO. All built racecars stripped caged etc compared to Sean's road going car with full leather, a/c, heat, music, no cage etc...
Pretty darn good I think. The RSR sounds great in front of him though. [:)]

Actually Olli the most ironic thing is that he has an S2 motor in the car.....................turbocharged of course!! [;)]

Actually Rik he put his front left off the track trying to get as wide an entry line into that corner which is very tight. So it was self induced.
 
Thanks for sharing Patrick, nice job by Sean. Looks like full leather in Sean's car as well and man that thing is fast, just look at him hanging onto that cup car on the straights.

I thought it pretty neat too Mark. Apart from all the advantages those other cars hold, just listening to the RSR row through those short gears with the sequential shows just how antique our 'H' pattern transmissions are. I'd say even on that short track there's a second or two lost by comparison. Apart from that it also sounds fantastic!
